Today I heard a rumor about a friend of mine. Right now, I am holding a sheet of paper that says:

As you may have heard, a sexual assault was reported in one of the rooms of Murphy Hall this morning. ...The alleged assailant, a resident, has been arrested and is not an immediate threat to our community.

I'm not really concerned with being sexually assaulted. I'm more concerned about his not being an "immediate threat." Does this mean he will be a threat in a week? A fortnight? A month? I'm shaken to realize that he will eventually be a threat.

Also, yes. This is 100% true.
